Mario Vukelić obtained LLB at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb (1981) and BA in Economics at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb. He serves as the President of the High Commercial Court of Republic of Croatia since 2009. He has been working at the High Commercial Court of Republic of Croatia and the Commercial Court in Zagreb for 31 years. In addition, he has been holding lectures (Senior Lecturer) in Commercial law at the College of Applied Sciences-VERN in Zagreb since 2001. He serves both as an arbitrator and a mediator. He was a member of various expert groups for drafting laws at the Ministry of Justice, member of the Negotiating Team for Accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union (2005-2012), representative of the Republic of Croatia to the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice – CEPEJ (2005 -2008), the EU expert for judicial reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2015. Member of Supervisory Board of Association of Croatian Judges, member of various experts groups of World Bank, member of International Insolvency Institute-III, International Exchange of Experience on Insolvency Law – IEEI, Judicial Wing of INSOL Europe.
He wrote several books and a number of papers on the topics of commercial law, bankruptcy law, and company law.
