Doc. dr. sc. Adriana Vincenca Padovan

  • Padovan_fotoDoc. dr. sc. Adriana Vincenca Padovan was born in Zagreb in 1978. She graduated in law in 2002 at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb (Croatia) where she also obtained her Ph. D. in 2011. She graduated with distinction at the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (Malta) in 2003, where she obtained her LL. M. degree. She currently works as a research fellow at the Adriatic Institute of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Dr. Padovan was previously employed by Croatia Insurance Co. Plc. (Zagreb) from 2003 until 2010, at the Head Office – Transport and Credit Insurance Department, where she was responsible for the marine and aviation hull and liability insurance business. In the academic year 2007/2008 she was engaged as assistant lecturer at the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (Malta). She occasionally participates in the undergraduate programme of the Maritime and Transport Law Department of the Faculty of Law in Zagreb (Croatia) as a visiting lecturer. Dr. Padovan passed the Croatian Bar exam in 2006, having completed an internship at the Municipal Court in Zagreb. She is regularly engaged to hold educational seminars in transport insurance by the Croatian Insurance Bureau, where she also acts as a mediator at the Centre for Mediation. Dr. Padovan was part of the Professional Committee for the revision of the Croatian Maritime Code in 2012 and 2013. She is a member of the Croatian Maritime Law Association and a board member of the Croatian Association of Insurance Law. She has published a dozen articles and scientific papers, and is the author of the book The role of marine insurance in the protection of marine environment from ship source pollution published by the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 2012.
