Asst. prof. Nikolina Brnjac was born in Zagreb in 1978. She graduated in transport technology in 2002 at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb (Croatia) where she also obtained her Ph. D. in 2009. She currently works as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, as head of the Chair of Intermodal Transport, Department of Transport Logistics. She teaches several courses – at the graduate level (B.Sc.): Integral Intermodal Transport, and Management of Development and Investments; and at the post-graduate level (M.Sc.): Geo-transport Analysis of Transportation Flows. She occasionally participates as a visiting lecturer at the University of Novi Sad and Chalmers University. Since 2012 she has been a member of the Organising Committee of ZIRP; from 2007-2011 a member of the Organising Committee of POWA (Ports and waterways International Conference); from 2007-2011 a member of the Scientific Council for Traffic, Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts; since 2010 a member of the Scientific Council, Pro-Rail Alliance; since 2011 a member of the Intermodal Promotion Center (European Intermodal Association); since 2012 a member of the Croatian Assosiation of Graduate Engineers and Engineers of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences (AMAC-FSC); since 2006 a member of the South‐East European Transport Research Forum (SETREF); since 2012 a member of the working committee for the revision of the Combined Transport Act, Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure. Since 2013 she has been an authorised engineer for railway transport at the Croatian Chamber of Transport Engineers. She has worked as a researcher/project leader on a number of EU projects ((iFreight MED, IPA-SEE ACROSSEE; Marco Polo Modal Shift Audit, Marco Polo II Call 2012 – DGMOVE/D1/SUB/224-2012-MP-II/036- “Go rail – Go green”, Standardization of Data Collection and Analysis in Transport Field with a View to Development of Science and Industry, Interreg CADSES project ADRIATIC3S…). She is a member of the international board at the Faculty and has been the CEEPUS network coordinator since 2011. She has published a dozen articles and academic papers, and is the author of two university books.
